Border Boys recently had the incredible opportunity to sit down for lunch with Dianne and Ian from Greensleeves.
We were able to make a donation of R30 000 as a result of a successful 2024 golf day. The donation will go towards a bus for the children at Greensleeves to be transported in and around East London and to other important appointments.
Dianne and Ian’s commitment to creating a better future for these young children is truly inspiring, it was evident in every aspect of their work and how warmly they speak about their children. The generosity and support from our supporters could not have gone towards a more worthy cause.
During our lunch, Diane and Ian shared numerous stories about their children including how they earn pocket money to learn the value of handling, saving and spending money by making their own jewellery out of paper. They were kind enough to bring some of their jewellery along with them and the skill and effort shown is truly remarkable.
As we discussed the future plans of Greensleeves, Dianne and Ian emphasized the importance of long-term sustainability and ensuring that the impact of their work is lasting and meaningful to ensure their children live the best lives possible as well as influence positive change in South Africa.
Greensleeves still require further funding for the bus, so please consider further donations by providing via this link
